Born in France to a Dutch father and French mother, Arnaud left his native country early on to travel the world, oscillating between East and West, and is currently based in Shanghai. More inspired among his predecessors by Erasmus than Napoleon, he took the time to pick up a few languages including English, German, Japanese, and some Mandarin Chinese. He received a degree in finance from Northeastern University, which he ties to a tree branch like Japanese prayer paper every time he goes into production.
Arnaud has film and video experience in Asia and Europe. In addition to directing several shorts and promotional videos, he produced and starred in Burial of the Rats, an independent feature film shot on location in Tokyo. He directed the documentary shorts Driver Zhou and Fusing Tones and directed photography for Holdem China as well as the short film Hukou. His most recent film, The Disappearance of Alistair Bell, is currently in production.
He has done video work for clients including Apple, Durex, The YK Pao School, Honeywell, Diagoe, TE Connectivity, ECCO, ExxonMobil, Botox, Allergan, Wiley Blackwell, General Motors, Weber Shandwick, ArvinMeritor, Shanghai Weekly, Touch Media, Shanghaiist.com, and Club G Plus. He recently returned from his second season as field camera operator for The Amazing Race: China Rush, broadcast on ICS, Dragon TV, and CCTV-2 and -9.
